Details of the Artwork
In "John's Journey" the notes of Don't Let Me Down are presented in a more psychedelic style. The electric guitar parts of John and George have been lifted above to show them in more detail as John explores the formation of the song.
The layout has the Bass notes on the left side and the Treble notes and harmonics on the right. Earlier music is in front with later music in the back. The various parts are portrayed using textures from the musical instruments that produced them.
Here the colors of several instruments invert in a psychedelic fashion. The electric guitar parts have been lifted above. The keyboard depicts Billy Preston's electric piano parts. The light wood peaks represent Ringo's birch drums he used in the famous rooftop performance of the song in the movie Let It Be. At the front the drums are engulfed in red and yellow flames. Paul’s bass with a darker fretboard is on the left. The water represents silence.
